“ANNIE”

CAST OF CHARACTERS

ALL ROLES IN THE CAST NEED STRONG ACTORS AND SINGERS

 

Children’s Roles (who can be played by younger or older cast members):

Annie--Tough, feisty, but adorable young orphan.

Tessie--Oh, my goodness!  Oh, my goodness!

Molly--The youngest and smallest of all the orphans but certainly not the quietest

Kate--The sweet, but a little timid, orphan.

Pepper--The bully of the group.  Tough and unwilling to be pushed around by anybody.

July--The friendly and spirited young orphan.

Duffy--Keeps all the other orphans in line.

 

Adult Roles (who can be played by younger or older cast members):

Daddy Warbucks--The “Billionaire.”  A workaholic who ends up having a heart of gold.Grace--Warbuck’s secretary.  Very proper and sophisticated.

Miss Hannigan--The hilarious, slightly wacky matron who runs the orphanage.

Lily--Named after a hotel, Rooster’s girlfriend and true sidekick!

Rooster--Miss Hannigan’s conniving and con artist brother.

Drake--Warbuck’s Man-Servant/Butler.

Roosevelt--The President of the United States, who also falls under Annie’s charm.

Bundles--The laundry man, who likes to flirt with Miss Hannigan.

Mary, Peggy, Sophie, Ira, Artie, Eddie, Fred, Appleseller--”Hooverites” fed up with poverty.

Mrs. Greer, Mrs. Pugh, Annette--The main servants in the Warbuck’s mansion.

Officer Ward--The not-so-kindly policeman who takes Annie back to the  orphanage.

Perkins, Howe, Hull, Ickes, Morganthau--All members of Roosevelt’s Cabinet.  (One is a woman!)
