How to Audition for a
Marilyn Izdebski Production
BE PREPARED:
• Choose an uptempo, happy, personality filled song.
(“Tomorrow” is not a good choice unless you
are auditioning for "Annie".)
• Know the lyrics of your song.
• Choreograph/Stage your song.
• Practice your song in front of everyone you know!

THE DAYS OF THE AUDITIONS:
• Come dressed appropriately.
• Do not come dressed in costume (for example, do not wear an
Annie costume even if you really want to audition for Annie!)
• Have your hair off your face!
• Wear appropriate shoes—no flip flops!
• Walk onstage confidently!
• State your name, age and grade confidently!
• Sing loudly!
• Sing with enthusiasm!
• Do the choreography for your song—don’t just stand there and sing!
• SMILE!!! HAVE FUN!!!
• Take home and look over scenes from the show that you will be asked to read on the second day.
• Say the lines in the scene with lots of characterization & enthusiasm!
• Read every role and every line the very best you can!!!
• SMILE!!! HAVE FUN!!!

AFTER YOU SING:
• Learn a short dance that we will teach you!• Take home and look over scenes from the show that you will be asked to read on the second day.
SECOND DAY OF AUDTIONS:
• All the above plus:• Say the lines in the scene with lots of characterization & enthusiasm!
• Read every role and every line the very best you can!!!
• SMILE!!! HAVE FUN!!!
